Space Odyssey 2015: How We Blasted Off at the Legendary BBDO Instinct Party

Throughout my career, I’ve been part of many incredible spots, but BBDO Instinct has always held a special place in my heart—it is my absolute favorite agency. This was the place where the concentration of fun, insanely talented, and beautifully crazy people always redlined. And if this crew decided to throw a party, it was bound to become an event of cosmic proportions. Quite literally.
Back in 2015, the agency rolled out a massive event styled around Outer Space. The office and the surrounding space instantly transformed into an intergalactic station, culminating in a wild rave where creators, strategists, and clients all blurred together into cosmic dust.
For me, that night was also a special experiment on a technical level. I decided to try something unique: I put on my futuristic Google Glass and started recording. While everyone around me was letting loose, I captured moments completely hands-free, staying right in the dead center of the action.

  • Absolute freedom allowed me to capture pure, unfiltered reality: wild dancing, genuine laughter, neon flashes, and an underground atmosphere that you could never catch with a regular camera.
  • Cosmic costumes of my colleagues looked like frames from a sci-fi movie through the lens of smart glasses—ranging from extraterrestrial aliens to astronauts deep in outer space distortion.
  • The real life of the agency after grueling briefs and deadlines revealed itself in all its glory, showing just how powerfully these people could breathe out and recharge each other with pure energy.

That live archive still warms me up from the inside today. It was the perfect combo: my favorite agency, the finest people on the planet, a cosmic vibe, and the technology of the future helping to preserve every single second of that madness. A true outer space that we built ourselves.
