When Advertising Makes Noise: How One Wild Idea Erased Boundaries at Publicis United
In a great advertising agency, there is simply no such thing as an “ordinary” employee. Creativity infuses everyone, and Publicis United was no exception. Sitting at adjacent desks were not just designers, copywriters, or managers—it was a powerful community of artists, closet rock stars, and musicians.
For a long time, this musical magic lived somewhere in the background, until 2011. Before an upcoming corporate party, our creative director came up with a brilliant idea. Instead of hiring an outside cover band, he simply gathered the entire creative department in one room and asked, “Who can play what instrument?”
The result exceeded all expectations. It turned out that we could assemble a full-fledged band in a split second, and with a backup lineup to boot.
That evening on stage, there were no job titles, hierarchies, or KPIs. Everyone became completely equal, united by a single wave of pure energy and drive.
This remains one of the warmest and most powerful memories to this day. It is in moments like these that you realize true creativity is not just a line on a resume or making banners. It is an incredible force capable of tearing down any barrier and turning a working team into a real family.
