Gravity Balance Stone Calendar
Overview
An interactive executive desk sculpture designed to visually defy gravity. Constructed from ultra-lightweight papier-mâché with highly authentic stone textures, each element houses embedded internal magnets. This magnet system allows clients to freely assemble, balance, and reconfigure their own stone pyramid monthly, placing the current month’s stone within the structure. The set includes 6 dual-sided calendar stones and 6 textured accent stones.

Each stone contains internal magnets for a secure connection with one another. The magnets are positioned so that the sculpture can be assembled to individual preference and rebalanced depending on mood. Their lightness and simple construction harmonize well with their heavy and unstable natural appearance.

Tapping into the popular media trend of DIY video content centered around building mechanical and everyday objects out of cardboard, this version is designed as a flat-pack assembly kit featuring an integrated calendar and greeting text. The safe opens via a turning dial mechanism, serving as a desktop storage unit for small items at home or in the office. This calendar concept can be produced across various material grades—differing in quality and durability—to cater to different client segments.
